Both sides served up some great rugby, with North Shields having the edge in the forwards and Rockcliff the advantage in the backs.
Rockcliffs tries came from Adam Thompson and Adam Ferreira, with Ferreiras try capping a man of the match performance. Dan Leach pitched in with some excellent cover tacking and there was good defence by both sides.
At the death Rockcliff had the chance to win the game with a penalty and opted to run the ball but the Shields defence held out to end the game with a result that failry reflected the efforts of both teams.
